Dr. Indra Gunawan, Gippsland Chapter Chair and Senior Lecturer & Coordinator of Postgraduate Programs in Maintenance and Reliability Engineering, Monash University, will speak and provide a workshop at the 17th Annual Maintenance Management Conference, Dubai, UAE, 25-29 September 2011. The workshop titled ‘Basic Quantitative Skills for Maintenance and Reliability Management’ will cover the:
The workshop provides methods to analyse the causes of failure such as the fault tree analysis; review and will discuss the probability distributions to evaluate the maintenance and reliability performance. It will include present case studies on maintenance and reliability management with the applications of Weibull plot and function. Indra will also make a presentation on ‘Improving Scheduling and Planning in Maintenance Through a Design Structure Matrix (DSM)’. Key issues will be discussed including using DSM to present efficient mapping of tasks clearly and concisely regardless of size, explaining DSM methodology: Path Searching, Powers of the Adjacency Matrix, Reachability Matrix, and how DSM methods can reduce rework in an engineering project.
