Breakdown Maintenance

Non-tactical Maintenance: The urgent maintenance activities required to recover full operational productivity after an un-planned loss of function. It differs from Run to Failure in that the consequences can be severe. These failures have not yet been assessed through an applicable RCM based methodology to revert it into pro-active maintenance. There is as yet, no standard task on the system to maintain the function.
