The Asset Management Council’s Melbourne Chapter recently hosted an insightful technical session exploring the critical role of change management in software implementation — with a spotlight on fleet management systems.

Held on 8 May, the evening presentation was delivered by Svetlana Makoutonina, Senior Project Manager at Court Services Victoria. Svetlana shared her hands-on experience in implementing fleet management software and unpacked the key stages of change management that supported a successful rollout.

Topics covered included stakeholder engagement, communication and training strategies, and common implementation challenges such as data migration and resistance to change. Svetlana highlighted how a structured change management approach helps mitigate risks, foster user adoption, and maximise long-term outcomes — not only enhancing fleet performance, but also supporting broader organisational transformation in a digital-first environment.

A warm thank you to Julia Kelley from the Melbourne Chapter committee for hosting and facilitating the event, and to Svetlana for her engaging presentation. We also extend our thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to a valuable evening of knowledge sharing and networking.

📥 The presentation slides are now available for download in the Members Zone, and the event recording is currently being finalised. It will be available shortly for the broader AMCouncil membership to learn from and revisit the key takeaways.
