Asset Management in Government Forum - register to attend in person in Perth or dial in online

Join the Asset Management Council Perth Chapter for an update on current developments in government asset management policy and practice and an opportunity to network with government asset management executives and practitioners.

This event is aimed at enabling government agencies to share experience and knowledge related to asset management practice in a state and commonwealth government context. It follows previous successful events showcasing approaches to asset management planning adopted by government agencies and sharing lessons learned. It also provides a forum for government asset management executives and practitioners to network with other agencies outside their portfolios.

With three main webinar series this year, there's sure to be something for everyone. Tune in to:

Through our affiliation with the Asset Management Society India, four Asset Management Council representatives have been invited to speak at a webinar session on the topic of 'fundamentals of asset management'. Being held Saturday 27th November, this is a two hour event commencing at 11am India time, which is 4.30pm AEDT (Sydney / Melbourne). Deeksha Sumanth the NSW Women in Asset management Representative (WiAM)  ran a WiAM led event for the Sydney Chapter on the 17 October 2019. A very well attended event with an expert panel discussing ‘What does an Asset management Leader look like?’ Deeksha described the WiAM interest group and certainly encouraged further participation form Sydney’s attending members.

The HMAS Melbourne (III) was decommissioned on Saturday 26^th October, berthing at Garden Island, Sydney, for the last time. It was a poignant ceremony, especially for the two-hundred men and women who served aboard the ship.

The ship has over two decades of service to this nation. She was deployed on operations across the globe, including the Middle East eight times, and earning battle honours for her service in East Timor and the Persian Gulf¹.The ship’s motto is ‘she gathers strength as she goes’² which is as fine a motto as you’ll ever hear and, given her capability right to decommissioning, rings perfectly true.

Wednesday 26th September saw the Brisbane Chapter provide a seminar on 'What an Asset Management System is and isn't.' The 2 hour presentation was hosted by committee members Keith Paintin and Mark Jordan, who provided an interactive walk through of the Asset Management System and its key elements from the AM Policy through to people capabilities and also debated what does optimisation really mean to an organisation.
