    Launch SMWe were excited to officially launch the 2018 Women in Transport Asset Management Mentoring Program yesterday. It is one of the outcomes of a strategic partnership between the Asset Management Council and Transport for Victoria.

    Learn at LunchWe've now just passed our sixth session in our fortnightly 'Asset Management in Action' series, showcasing projects from our Excellence Awards finalists during AMPEAK16 and 17. Thank you to Richard Lu from Sydney Trains, who took the time to tell us all about their project, the development of an Asset Information Submission Guideline, and to Jun Li from Curtin University who talked us through his project on Infrastructural Condition Monitoring.

    Our series is able to reach our members far and wide from all around the world, with the benefit of them being able to join in during their lunchbreak from the comfort of their own home or office. Our webinars are able to be accessed by computer, tablet or even smartphone!

  • Lunch and Learn is Back!

    Moniques webinar pictureWhat a turnout to last week's WiAM Lunch and Learn webinar. Over 130 people registered to hear a terrific presentation from Monique Beedles on Sustainability and Asset Management.

    It was a great taster for this year's AMPEAK conference in April which will focus on empowering sustainable change, and many participants took the opportunity to ask oodles of questions at the end.

  • Making the Finkel Electricity Plan Work

    Canberra 24 May 3Canberra’s Engineering House hosted a packed audience on Thursday evening 24th May, where the Canberra Chapter of the AMC held a joint presentation with the Electric Energy Society of Australia to discuss the future of Australia’s Electricity Supply as laid out in the Finkel Plan.

  • Maritime Sustainment in Defence

    John WestThe Melbourne chapter held a session at Engineers Australia’s city facilities, focused on the evolution of asset management in defence. John West, Asset Management Principal at BAE Systems, talked about linkages between defence capability and asset management, drawing on examples from the maritime defence sector. The enthusiastic audience included AMC members from government, defence and consulting.

  • Meeting of the NSW Government Village

    NSW Govt Village

    The Asset Management Council was proud to play a major part in yesterday's meeting of the NSW government village along with Infrastructure NSW. The purpose was to formally launch the new NSW Government endorsed Asset Management Policy. It was also an opportunity to receive an update from the CEO of Infrastructure NSW on the key asset management policy reforms underway in line with the State Infrastructure Strategy 2018-2038.

  • Melbourne explores the AMAF Audit Report

    Melbourne 10Following the Asset Management Accountability Framework Audit Report that was presented to Parliament on 23rd May 2019, our Melbourne AMCouncil chapter got together over breakfast to hear from Catherine Sandercock, Manager Performance Audit, Victorian Auditor-General’s Office, who spoke about the audit findings and recommendations.
