  • Perth talks Value, Improvement and Innovation

    Perth Event 22 Feb 2018 Main PhotoOur Perth chapter got together yesterday evening to kick off the first of many events for 2018, this one all about Value, Improvement and Innovation in Asset Management. James Wright (Jacobs) went through some practical examples of how to embed an effective asset management culture in organisations. Ian Moon from the Warship Asset Management Alliance Management Office followed up with exploring the understanding, development, implementation and challenges of Continous Improvement in a defence and industry alliance environment.

  • Perth's Government in Asset Management Forum

    Great turn out for the Perth Chapter’s second Government in Asset Management Forum. Thank you to the Treasury Department for sharing an overview of their Strategic Asset Management Framework, the Water Corporation for hosting the event and thanks to those who participated in the forum and discussions.

    Calling subject matter experts - we want you! Journey with us in 2021 as we take a deep dive into six aspects of Asset Management.

    The latter half of this year will see the AMCouncil launch a weekly technical series  - Asset Management Landscape Insights - a webinar series designed to increase capability within the sector.

    Geared around six GFMAM Landscape areas, the series will take place weekly over six months, with each month dedicated to a particular asset management area:

  • Problem Solving Framework for Asset Management

  • Process Hazard Analysis

    Ivica Ninic last week presented an introduction to Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and how it relates to asset management. He discussed the purpose of PHA and provided a brief overview of the key tools used to analyse process hazards. He also took us through a practical application of hazard analysis to ensure the safe and prolonged operation of assets.

  • RAID Technical Recordings - now available for all

    The Asset Management Council in collaboration with Federation University Australia recently hosted two full days for the 2021 RAID event, featuring 28 technical presentations from students presenting on their latest research and findings. This was a free event for all guests, and as such all are now welcome to access the post event RAID page to watch the recorded sessions and download the presentations from the event.   • Reliability Improvement in the Rail Sector

    TrainsOn Wednesday, 26 August 2020, the Brisbane Chapter hosted a webinar on reliability improvement, with over 140 attendees dialling in across Australia and internationally. The webinar saw Frank Gabriel, Principal Consultant at Railconfidence, present on a real-life reliability improvement program undertaken for a major Australian rail operator. In a point of difference from traditional presentations stemming from the rail sector, the focus of Frank’s presentation was on the mobile equipment used to maintain rail infrastructure, rather than the rail infrastructure itself.

  • Repurposing Sydney's Rocks

    Sydney WiAM 18 October 3 fixOn the 18th October 2018, the NSW Women in Asset Management (WiAM) Special Interest Group hosted its second Sydney Chapter event; Miriam Stacy (Place Management, Property NSW) gave a thoroughly absorbing presentation on the role she and her team plays in repurposing heritage-listed property assets in The Rocks area of Sydney.

    Picture TwoDr Nathanial Bavinton, Smart City Coordinator for the City of Newcastle, last night presented at the Newcastle Chapter's March meeting on A Smart City Infrastructure for the future of Newcastle.

    With Newcastle moving rapidly to adopt smart city technologies as part of the urban revitalisation of the city, Federal and State governments are investing in the vision for infrastructure to enable a range of new approaches to asset management and service delivery, which will position the city as a technology development testbed.

  • Sydney and Digital Engineering

    Sydney 16 May1Sydney chapter had an excellent attendance of 49 to join in a panel discussion on “Digital Engineering in Asset Management” last Thursday.

    The key theme of the discussion was exploring “Why aren’t we using DE for whole of life management of assets yet?”
