• Understanding Risks & Asset Assessment Process for WTP Aeration Assets (Control of Legionella)


    In 2014, the Water Corporation instigated the “Legionella High Level Risk Assessment Initiative” (LHLRAI), a prioritised work plan to capture cooling tower assets subject to AS3666.1-4 and the Department of Health WA requirements for assessing Legionella risk (Code Of Practice, 2014). As part of this initiative, inclusion of other “aeration” type assets such as plate aerators and spray basins were assessed and the outcomes compared with compliance against national and available industry best practice standards.

  • What does a good Asset Management Leader look like?

    IMG 0009Deeksha Sumanth the NSW Women in Asset management Representative (WiAM)  ran a WiAM led event for the Sydney Chapter on the 17 October 2019. A very well attended event with an expert panel discussing ‘What does an Asset management Leader look like?’ Deeksha described the WiAM interest group and certainly encouraged further participation form Sydney’s attending members.

    Audience 26 9 18Wednesday 26th September saw the Brisbane Chapter provide a seminar on 'What an Asset Management System is and isn't.' The 2 hour presentation was hosted by committee members Keith Paintin and Mark Jordan, who provided an interactive walk through of the Asset Management System and its key elements from the AM Policy through to people capabilities and also debated what does optimisation really mean to an organisation.

  • WiAM take a deep dive into rail network initatives

    pic 1Last week, our Women in Asset Management special interest group hosted the Sydney Chapter Asset Management Council webinar - Lidija Dumbaloska, Professional Head, Electrical Engineering, Engineering & System Integrity, Sydney Trains joined with Alan Skofic, Principal Engineer, Substations, Sydney Trains provided the virtual audience with a comprehensive deep dive in to Electrical Initiatives and strategies that have commenced and are implemented on a rail network.
