  • 2019 looking good for Brisbane Chapter

    qldamcThe Brisbane Chapter held a planning session on the 25th October to identify the topics for the technical sessions that will be held in 2019. This session was a lively interactive session with 15 participants. They took a fresh look at the technical sessions, with a view as to what was wanted from the sessions, what specific subjects rewash were of interest and what site visits might appeal to the members.

    • Brisbane Chapter Session Recap - Aerospace & Asset Management

      Tuesday 30th March saw Brisbane Chapter host the second technical seminar of 2021, This event was intended to be a hybrid format but the COVID restrictions announced the day before meant a revision to the arrangements to an online event. Around 100 people saw Wing Commander Keirin Joyce of the RAAF and Dr Stefan Hrabar CEO of Emesent present two different approaches to drones and their deployment in asset management activities.

      Thursday 25th February saw the Brisbane Chapter present a hybrid technical session on Asset Management basics, with over 120 attendees either in person or online. This was presented by Chapter Chair, Keith Paintin, and Committee member, Steve Walker. The session addressed some basic Asset Management questions such as:

      Thursday 24th Feb saw Brisbane Chapter host a Technical session on Mythbusting Asset Management presented by Keith Paintin and Stephen Walker to over 120 participants. The session explored some common misconceptions and misunderstandings surrounding Asset Management. This session was also aimed at those people new to Asset Management and wanted to understand the basics.

    • Invitation to Vote - 2022 Board Elections

      In accordance with the Constitution of the Asset Management Council nominations were called for the position of Director on the AMCouncil Board of Directors.

      An extensive search was undertaken to attract suitable candidates from all geographical locations across our membership base and externally advertising the position through AICD.  

      Three candidates have successfully nominated for one position of Director which becomes vacant at the 2022 AGM. Voting is now open and closes at 5pm AEDT on Friday 1st April 2022. 

    • IPWEA Asset Management Congress

      IPWEA PicThe Institute of Public Works Engineering Australiasia (IPWEA) has kindly extended a special discount to Asset Management Council members for their upcoming Asset Management Congress.

      On behalf of the Asset Management community IPWEA will unite the best and brightest minds in asset management to shape the future of Australia’s infrastructure at the inaugural IPWEA Asset Management Congress, to be held in Canberra, 14-15 August.

      Some great discussion came out of the Virtual Workshop held earlier this month by JAS-ANZ where AMCouncil members were invited to get together to workshop ideas about ISO 55001 certification barriers & benefits. Check out a high level analysis of some of the workshop outcomes below.

      Learn at LunchWe've now just passed our sixth session in our fortnightly 'Asset Management in Action' series, showcasing projects from our Excellence Awards finalists during AMPEAK16 and 17. Thank you to Richard Lu from Sydney Trains, who took the time to tell us all about their project, the development of an Asset Information Submission Guideline, and to Jun Li from Curtin University who talked us through his project on Infrastructural Condition Monitoring.

      Our series is able to reach our members far and wide from all around the world, with the benefit of them being able to join in during their lunchbreak from the comfort of their own home or office. Our webinars are able to be accessed by computer, tablet or even smartphone!

      An Overview of ISO 55012

      Join the Asset Management Council Melbourne Chapter for an overview of ISO 55012. Tom Carpenter is a valued member of the Asset Management Council and Melbourne Chapter, and also represents Standards SME as part of the Australian delegation at the international ISO/TC251 committee. Tom will provide an update on the new guidelines on people involvement and competence within asset management, which will be followed by a Q&A discussion.
