    Calling subject matter experts - we want you! Journey with us in 2021 as we take a deep dive into six aspects of Asset Management.

    The latter half of this year will see the AMCouncil launch a weekly technical series  - Asset Management Landscape Insights - a webinar series designed to increase capability within the sector.

    Geared around six GFMAM Landscape areas, the series will take place weekly over six months, with each month dedicated to a particular asset management area:

    The Asset Management Council in collaboration with Federation University Australia recently hosted two full days for the 2021 RAID event, featuring 28 technical presentations from students presenting on their latest research and findings.   • Sydney Chapter Celebrates

    Battling Sydney's train strikes and school strikes, a small but select group of AM Council Sydney Chapter members were able to get together at the Garden Bar of the Commercial Hotel in Parramatta yesterday evening to catch up (in person!), reflect on the year that was and look towards 2022.

    The Sydney Chapter have been busy putting together a technical programme of events for 2022 and members and associates can look forward to a monthly schedule of a mix of alternative in-person events and virtual events covering all manner of asset management hot topics and trends.

    Digital Infrastructure assisting Asset Management

    Join the Asset Management Council Sydney Chapter for a technical session on implementing predictive analytics on one of Australia's largest rail fleets. 

    Sydney’s Waratah Train fleet consists of 78 trains that are connected to ICT Shore Systems – producing over 330 Million data points everyday.

    In 2017, Downer embarked on a program to use that data to perform predictive analytics as well as a wider transition towards condition based maintenance. The result was TrainDNA and an Integration Operations Centre.

  • Sydney Sings Praises about Opera House Site Visit

    The AMC Sydney Chapter conducted its annual site visit on the morning of Thursday 15th August. This year we had the privilege of being hosted for a behind the scenes tour of the iconic Sydney Opera House (SOH). SOH is an asset with a design life of 250 years, which opened in 1973 and hence is approaching 50 years old.

  • Sydney tackles asset decision making using quantitiative risk management techniques

    Sydney Chapter Broadcast ScreenshotMark Ragusa, a dedicated asset management professional recently provided a large webinar audience with an interesting presentation on decision making and risk management processes within Ausgrid. Mark noted asset management must start with an understanding of the organisational objectives which are translated into asset management objectives. Creating this line of-sight will enable asset management decisions to align achieving organisational objectives. The basis for making asset management decisions must also be established so that decisions are consistent and appropriately supported.

  • Sydney's Bring a Problem Night

    IMG 0074Sydney Chapter has thrown back to a meeting format from the 1990’s in its June meeting to take on “Bring a Problem’ night. With one very large complex problem presented from the team at John Holland Group asking the question, ‘How does an organisation that covers a large regional footprint with complex assets (e.g., Large Utility etc) best engage the large asset delivery workforce to ensure ownership of the desired outcomes?’ See the problem submitted in visual format here.
