SUMMARY:Webinar - Resilience at Scale: Transforming the Essential Energy Network through Composite Pole Transition (AM in Action 2 of 9)
DESCRIPTION:This presentation will focus on how\, by transitioning to composite poles\, Essential Energy is building a stronger\, more resilient network that reduces outages\, shortens restoration times\, and delivers safer\, more reliable electricity for the customers and communities we serve\, when they need it most. \nManaging 1.4 million poles and replacing more than 9\,000 end-of-life assets each year\, Essential Energy is future-proofing one of Australia’s largest distribution networks. \nAn ageing timber pole fleet\, constrained supply and escalating climate risk drove a decisive transition to composite poles. With one in five poles in bushfire-prone areas\, composite materials strengthen resilience\, improve survivability\, reduce outages and accelerate restoration\, thereby safeguarding customer outcomes and network reliability. \nPart of the Asset Management in Action Webinar Series – showcasing submissions from the 2026 Excellence Awards. \nClick here to register\n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Deepak Pais is the Manager Engineering – Network Standards at Essential Energy. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer and Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia with 24 years of experience in Asset Management and Engineering across electricity and manufacturing sectors. Deepak is responsible for Essential Energy’s design\, construction and maintenance standards\, asset failure investigations\, material testing\, quality assurance and material supply contracts. He has delivered on industry leading initiatives on new material technologies and standards that have improved network safety\, reliability and value for money outcomes for customers. Recognised in the industry for his technical and commercial acumen\, Deepak’s work has contributed to network hardening and resilience to better manage climate change impacts. Deepak actively contributes to several industry committees like CIGRE\, Standards Australia\, Energy Networks Association and has served as the Chair of the Distribution Industry Working Group. He is also an educator having trained many industry professionals over the last 14 years in a range of electrical engineering topics. He has been the recipient of ‘Award for Excellence in Teaching and Professional Training’ on two occasions recognising his contributions to quality Engineering education that focuses on industry best practice.\n \n \n \n

SUMMARY:Webinar - Closing the Gaps: A Decade of Measurable Asset Management Improvement at EnergyAustralia (AM in Action 3 of 9)
DESCRIPTION:This presentation will focus on EnergyAustralia’s Asset Management System maturity journey from 2016 to 2025. \nIn 2016\, EnergyAustralia identified significant deficiencies in its Asset Management System through its first fleet wide Asset Management Review. In 2025\, a comprehensive AS/ISO 55001-aligned Asset Management Maturity Assessment demonstrated measurable uplift: 4 major gaps fully closed\, 10 materially progressed\, and only 1 legacy gap outstanding. \nIn the time between the two assessments\, a sustained program of design\, implementation\, and optimisation of Asset Management artifacts\, processes and procedures have been implemented. The implementation of the mature Asset Management System has required consistent effort\, heavy stakeholder engagement\, regular leadership alignment and involvement\, and a lot of passion and enthusiasm from the team. \nPart of the Asset Management in Action Webinar Series – showcasing submissions from the 2026 Excellence Awards. \nClick here to register\n  \n \n\n Jennifer (Jenny) Ratsep is a Mechatronics Engineer and the Asset Systems Leader for the EnergyAustralia generation portfolio. She has extensive experience across power generation industry in Asset Management\, Process Safey and Engineering Leadership\, specialising in asset management governance and lifecycle strategy. At EnergyAustralia\, Jenny is responsible for the delivery of the Asset Management requirements and has led the Central Engineering Asset Systems team since 2019.\n\n James Stevens is a Mechanical Engineer and the Asset Management Lead for the EnergyAustralia generation portfolio. He has extensive experience in a variety of roles across rail and energy in maintenance\, reliability and asset management specialising in asset lifecycle strategy development and Asset Management maturity. At EnergyAustralia\, James is responsible for the asset management framework and Asset Management Plan reviews amongst other continuous improvement initiatives such as asset criticality.\n\n April Jewell is a Mechanical Engineer and the Asset Management Systems Lead for the EnergyAustralia generation portfolio. She has thirteen years of experience across coal and gas generation in plant engineering\, outage delivery\, decommissioning and sustainability\, specialising in asset management systems\, data governance\, and climate risk. At EnergyAustralia\, April is responsible for the Asset Management System maturity program and Levels of Service framework\, and co-chairs the Operations and Projects Data Governance Working Group.

SUMMARY:Webinar - The Good\, the Bad and the Ugly of FMECA and RCM (MRiAM 2 of 5)
DESCRIPTION:The Good\, the Bad and the Ugly of FMECA and RCM – Lessons Learned from the Real World \nFailure Modes\, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) are recognised reliability tools\, yet their application is often challenging. This session shares practical experiences\, successes\, pitfalls\, and lessons learned from implementing FMECA and RCM programs. Rather than a “how-to” workshop\, the focus is on understanding what works\, what doesn’t\, and how organisations can maximise value from these critical reliability processes. \nPresented by Tanya Viano\, Past Chair of Maintenance & Reliability in Asset Management Special Interest Group\, Asset Management Council \nPart two of the five-part Reliability Engineering Excellence webinar series. \nClick here to register\nThis webinar can be attended as a standalone session\, or join us for the full series as we progress from reliability fundamentals through to predictive maintenance and AI/ML. Register separately for each session you would like to attend.
