He is a Civil Engineer with more than 17 years at the USACE\, Civil Works. He has progressed from his original Structural Engineer position to Regional Asset Manager and is now Asset Management Program Manager. When asked to speak with us\, Mr. Lowman was excited to share the 2026 US Army Engineering Research and Development Report on how the USACE Civil Engineers is improving how it estimates the likelihood of failure for its infrastructure\, with recent reports highlighting a transition from expert-based assessments toward data-driven\, statistical models to support risk-informed decisions. This will be provided in the VBAM format. Peter Dodgian formerly represented USACE.\n\n\nRichard Dietz is Project Manager – Capital Asset Replacement Scheduling System at Office of the Chief Financial Officer for the Government of Washington\, D.C. He has presented the measurable values and benefits from having 100 departments use the same system to report to the CFO\, where more than US$22 billion is managed every year. By running the Asset Management system through the Chief Financial Office\, there is a fiscal incentive to report assets accurately. With an increased amount of Asset Management efficiency and effectiveness\, the department continues to develop gains for the City. Learn how AI and other tools and processes have continually improved Asset Management outcomes for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer of Washington\, D.C.
