SUMMARY:Virtual Event - Research and Industry Day 2026 (RAID)
DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with Federation University\, this free for all guests event is where Academia meets Industry to share the latest research in maintenance and asset management. Consisting of a series of virtual presentations by final year students undertaking maintenance and asset management research projects\, it’s an opportunity for students to share their research and findings with Industry and for Industry to find out what is happening with the latest research and how this can be applied to your organisation. A number of students will present their research in rapid fire presentations with an opportunity for participants to ask questions after each presentation. Tune in for the whole day or just the presentations that are of interest. \nIt’s a good chance to discover: \n\nFindings from latest research and studies\nHow it applies to what you do\nWhat skills and experience can contribute to your success\nHow to stay ahead of your competition to remain viable\n\nClick here to register\n  \nProgram to include (*subject to change): \n\nFire Risk Mitigation and Reliability Improvement on Conveyor Belts in Mining (Vipu Mathew)\nFault Tree Analysis of Rollingstock Stopping AID System Train Software for reducing operational safety (Haocheng Shi)\nFailure Mode and Effect Analysis of Power System Monitoring for Control Systems of Alumina Production Plant (Amr Hegab)\nRisk-based Decision Making in Maintenance Intervals of Light Rails in Australia (Muhammad Hussain)\nA Modified Total Cost of Ownership Framework for Fatigue Testing Equipment in Academic Laboratories (Adewale Oyeku)\nReliability-Centred Digital Modernisation Framework for CNC and Metal-Forming Assets: A Case from an Australian Manufacturing SME (Srinivas Polisetti)\nRisk-Informed Life Extension Decisions Using Unstructured Maintenance Data (Venkata Sai Prashanth Sudula)\nA Bayesian Decision-Making Framework for Life Extension of Long-Life Complex Assets under Data Scarcity (Ravi Welandage Don)\nA Comparative Analysis of Key Performance Indicators for monitoring and preventive interventions in the Rail Sector (Dennis Noble)\nRisk-Based Overall Equipment Effectiveness to Total Productive Maintenance: Translating Measurement into Action in Meat Manufacturing (Vickram Chundhoo)

SUMMARY:Webinar - Systems Thinking for Land Maintenance: Integrating Digital Engineering\, Analytics and Machine Learning for Sustainment Optimisation
DESCRIPTION:Modern sustainment environments are becoming increasingly complex\, requiring organisations to move beyond siloed maintenance approaches toward integrated\, enterprise-wide systems thinking. This webinar explores how Systems Thinking principles\, combined with Digital Engineering (DE)\, Machine Learning (ML)\, and advanced analytics\, can support smarter and more effective land maintenance and sustainment outcomes. \nThe session will present a high-level model-based approach to maintenance optimisation\, demonstrating how data-driven decision-making and integrated digital ecosystems can improve operational effectiveness while maintaining technical integrity and assurance. \nKey themes will include: \n\nApplying Systems Thinking to maintenance and sustainment environments\nLeveraging Digital Engineering and Machine Learning to improve maintenance decision-making\nReducing inefficiencies\, delays\, and wastage across sustainment processes\nEnhancing visibility\, governance\, and enterprise integration through data and analytics\nBalancing cost optimisation with technical integrity and capability assurance\n\nThe webinar will also discuss the growing importance of integrated engineering ecosystems\, enterprise data alignment\, and advanced analytics in shaping the future of Defence and complex asset sustainment. \nClick here to register\n  \nPresenters: \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Manas Dhiman is a Systems Engineer with a biomedical engineering background and experience across defence health capability\, vehicle sustainment\, and enterprise systems. She holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering and has developed her career working across complex\, integrated Defence programs. She spent three years in Land Division supporting JP2060 Phase 3 – Deployable Health Facilities\, contributing to the delivery and sustainment of deployable health capability. She also worked within PMSPO Bushmaster\, supporting sustainment activities for a critical land capability. She subsequently moved into Engineering Technology and Materiel Logistics (ETML) Division\, where she works as a Systems Engineer on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programs\, with responsibilities including standards management\, systems integration\, and assurance across enterprise-level capabilities. Her experience spans across systems engineering\, standards governance\, sustainment support\, and capability integration across multidisciplinary teams\, with a focus on delivering reliable and scalable solutions in complex operational environments.\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Sandeep (Sunny) Jadhav is an accomplished Electrical Engineer and senior Defence leader with extensive experience in Army project delivery\, through-life support\, Defence reform\, and continuous improvement. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer\, Fellow of Engineers Australia\, and Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma\, with multiple master’s degrees and a strong publication record in systems engineering\, organisational excellence\, and data analytics. He is also an active educator\, mentor\, and advocate for STEM\, agile thinking\, and digital transformation across Defence\, industry\, and academia. Currently\, he serves as Director Systems Engineering – CASG (ETML)\, having also led Digital Twins\, IoT\, and Defence analytics initiatives within Defence ERP.
