SUMMARY:Canberra - ConnectSydney’s Asset Management Maturity Uplift in Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contract
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to invite you to an exclusive live stream event hosted by the Canberra Chapter. Join local Asset Management Council members for an engaging evening as we gather together and dial into Sydney’s technical session\, “ConnectSydney’s Asset Management Maturity Uplift in Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contract.” \nClick here to register\nAbout the Session: \nUnder the Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contract (SRAPC)\, ConnectSydney assumed stewardship of a complex and highly visible road network within the Sydney Eastern Harbour Zone. Early delivery highlighted a range of asset management challenges common across the industry\, including reactive planning\, fragmented prioritisation\, limited assurance confidence\, and siloed decision-making across functions. \nThis presentation shares ConnectSydney’s asset management maturity journey\, focusing on the practical actions taken to address these challenges and uplift maturity in a live operational environment. It outlines how capability\, assurance\, prioritisation\, and cross-functional alignment were deliberately strengthened through targeted changes to roles\, governance\, decision frameworks\, and ways of working. \nRather than presenting theory\, the session demonstrates how asset-need-led planning\, balanced cost–risk–performance prioritisation\, and embedded assurance were translated into day-to-day business-as-usual practices. The presentation concludes by reflecting on the tangible outcomes achieved\, including improved decision quality\, clearer traceability\, and a measurable lift in client confidence and engagement—positioning ConnectSydney as a trusted asset steward for the Harbour Zone. \nThis is a fantastic opportunity to gain insights\, network with peers\, and enjoy some light refreshments and nibbles in a relaxed setting. \nWe look forward to welcoming you at the Canberra Chapter Meet! \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Max Dallarmi brings four decades of experience across the planning\, delivery and stewardship of complex road infrastructure\, spanning construction\, operations and asset management in highly regulated network environments. As Network Needs Manager at ConnectSydney for the past five years\, he has led asset management activities for the Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contract in the Harbour Zone\, providing strategic and tactical direction across asset planning\, compliance\, sustainability and continuous improvement\, in alignment with TfNSW stewardship principles. He is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic and tactical asset management plans\, embedding ISO 55000-aligned practices\, and driving reliability-based maintenance and renewal strategies across a diverse portfolio of road\, bridge\, tunnel and pavement assets. With a strong background in civil engineering and program delivery\, Max works closely with leadership and operational teams to translate asset data and performance insights into practical\, risk-based decisions that improve network outcomes\, strengthen safety and sustainability performance\, and support long-term network resilience.\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Syed Kazmi is a Strategic Asset Manager at ConnectSydney\, responsible for asset stewardship across the Harbour Zone under the Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contract (SRAPC). He leads strategic asset planning\, lifecycle optimisation\, and cost–risk–performance decision-making across a complex\, multi-asset road network. He works closely with leadership and delivery teams to translate asset intelligence into informed\, risk-based network outcomes. With over two decades of experience across infrastructure\, operations and asset management\, Syed has worked across telecommunications\, tunnels and motorway networks in Australia and internationally. His career spans asset systems engineering\, lifecycle modelling\, capital works planning and enterprise asset strategy\, with extensive experience working within performance-based and concession environments.

He has multidisciplined skills across a variety of industries including Defence\, Water & Sewage Treatment\, Power Stations\, Prisons\, Construction\, Health Sector\, Educational Sector and the built environment. The services he provides to industry include asset management strategy; inspection\, auditing and reporting; management of performance tests; asset lifecycle strategy; development of operation and maintenance strategy and cost modeling; and industrial maintenance services. Craig has a trade background and is a Charted Professional Engineer with areas of practice in Mechanical Engineering and Asset Management. He is a member of the Asset Management Council and a CAMA to ISO55001 and a member of the AMC special interest group\, MRiAM.\n \n \n \n\n This session forms the fourth and final in a webinar series presented by MRiAM – Challenges Associated with Spares Management During the Operational Phase – Webinar Series. In 2024\, MRiAM presented a webinar series on managing spares\, including guidance on quantities and related considerations. Since then\, several forums have raised questions and prompted discussion about how to manage spares once they have been identified in the maintenance system and warehoused during the operational phase of a project. There has also been growing interest in related topics such as managing obsolete spares\, “squirrel stores”\, and maintaining spares holdings. The objective of this series is to address these topics and provide practical solutions from speakers who have identified these issues and can share proven approaches. Registering for this session will register you for all four sessions in the series.

SUMMARY:Webinar - Managing Spares for Corrective Maintenance\, Preventative Maintenance and End-of-Life
DESCRIPTION:Spare parts play a pivotal role in sustaining equipment reliability and availability\, a fact that becomes obvious during both corrective and preventative maintenance activities. When spares are well‑managed and strategically utilised\, maintenance work becomes faster\, more effective\, and more predictable — delivering measurable improvements in reliability\, availability\, and overall cost performance. \nThis session will explore the practical foundations of effective spare parts management across key focus areas: \n\nSpares procurement and supplier engagement\nStorage and preservation practices\nInventory holdings\, control\, and issuing processes\nAccess and availability during maintenance windows\n\nStrong practices in these areas ensure maintenance can be completed within the shortest possible time\, at optimum cost\, and with minimal waste or rework. \nWe will also examine the challenges associated with spare parts discontinuation (obsolescence) and component end‑of‑life\, which can create significant cost\, risk\, and engineering impacts for many facilities. The webinar will outline practical strategies to mitigate these issues to help maintain equipment availability while organisations navigate the risks of obsolescence. \nClick here to register\n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Alex Jarufe is a senior Asset Management engineer with 30 years of hands‑on experience across Australia’s heavy industries\, including mining and mineral processing\, oil and gas\, chemical processing\, water treatment\, power generation\, food production and agriculture. Throughout his career\, Alex has held key roles spanning Strategic Asset Management\, Maintenance Management\, Shutdown and Turnaround Management\, Maintenance and Reliability Engineering\, Spare Parts Optimisation\, Root Cause Failure Analysis and Defect Elimination\, Maintenance Planning and Scheduling\, Master Data development and Equipment Design. Alex has extensive practical experience in the identification\, management and optimisation of spare parts for complex assets. His work includes developing and deploying strategies to manage obsolescence risk in critical applications\, ensuring continued equipment availability and preventing major operational disruptions.\n \n \n \n\n Following the conclusion of our Challenges Associated with Spares Management During the Operational Phase webinar series\, we are delighted to present one additional session for those who would like to continue the discussion. This special webinar builds on the themes of the series and offers further practical insights for attendees.
