ISO 55001 Assessor Certification Exam Beta Test

The Asset Management Council has been working with more than 30 volunteers in Australia and New Zealand to create set of questions for an ISO Assessor exam, to certify individuals to be approved as ISO 55001 Assessors.

The volunteers contributed more than 250 multiple choice questions that have been approved by SMRPCO as suitable for beta testing.

AM Council Discussion: Best Practice Use of Asset Management in Major Capital Projects

Examples of Best Practice Use of Asset Management in Major Capital Projects

Dave Daines, Asset Management Lead at BHP Billiton

Historically, it would appear that a lot of project groups either specifically treat some of this work as Operational Readiness and / or Maintenance Development at the project delivery stage and potentially fail to recognise the benefits at the Project Development stages (Concept / Selection /Definition).

What I am seeking is examples of the asset management approach being truly applied during project development and delivery stages and would like to talk to any organisation that consider they do this well.

GFMAM Competency Specification for an ISO 55001 Asset Management System Auditor / Assessor

12-14 Specification Cover

From consultation with stakeholders, it has become clear that members and stakeholders of the Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management (GFMAM) Member Societies are seeking assistance in achieving results from the ISO 5500X Standards. In particular, organisations require competent and capable people - who may be employed as staff or brought in from external organisations - to assess against, or comply with, ISO 55001.

The Competency Specification for an ISO 55001 Asset Management System Auditor / Assessor sets out the minimum knowledge and comprehension specification for personnel to audit or assess to ISO 55001.

Each GFMAM member incorporates this Specification as part of their asset management framework.

These competency requirements have been created to form the baseline to assure the competence of people who audit or assess organisations to ISO 55001. These competency requirements conform to, at least, the requirements and recommendations in ISO 17210-5 and ISO 19011:2011.
