Wednesday, March 21st, saw the Brisbane chapter host a technical seminar on the subject of Digital Engineering. A well attended evening seminar saw Ian Hardcastle (Digital Engineering Practice Director from Jacobs) present his observations and thoughts on the evolution of Building Information Modelling (BIM) into DE, and how the value of digital information can be created and also eroded.
This was followed by a presentation from Angela Marsh, a geospatial engineer also from Jacobs. Angela provide a demonstration of how Digital Technology is being used by some organisations to improve the quality and ease of on site asset information capture, such as location and asset condition and how this information can be utilised in decision making.
The above presentations have uploaded to our technical presentations collection. You can download 'An Introduction for Digital Engineering' and 'Condition Assessment using Smart Forms'. (This content is available to AMCouncil members only, see our affordable membership options here).
These were followed by a lively panel discussion with both speakers.
