The Canberra Chapter of the AMC held our 2018 AGM and a presentation on the evening of the 22nd March at Engineering House in Canberra. This is a wonderful venue for presentations and the Engineers Australia staff, as usual do everything they can to make the evening run like clockwork.
After a get together session over tea and coffee, it was down to business in the main auditorium. The presentation was about Asset Management Systems in Asset Intensive Industries, and with a total of 17 attendees from universities, defence, electricity distribution and consulting engineers, there was plenty of input from the audience, making for an interesting evening.
Whilst we agree on the principles of asset management, system design and implementation needs to be tailored to the industry, and organisation. It was particularly pleasing to see some students at the event, we look forward to them coming again.
The above presentation has been uploaded to our technical presentations collection. Access it here: Asset Management Systems in Asset Intensive Industries, by Michael Schulzer of EvoEnergy. (This content is available to AMCouncil members only, see our affordable membership options here).
We also held our AGM, and our loyal committee nominated and was voted in for another year. These are:
Mike Schulzer – Chair
Brett Morrison – Committee
Ryan Chenery – Committee
We are also looking for a youthful committee member to act as the chapter YAMP representative, so now is your chance to step forward. If this is something that it of interest, please drop us a line to firstname.lastname@example.org
As for future events, the AIPM agreed to hold another joint event with us, following our success last year. We will also schedule a site visit later in the year, and hold our annual break-up event late November, so keep an eye out in our calendar and hope to see you at one or more of these!
