Traditionally reliability effort and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies have been conducted on a project basis and one of the most common pitfalls to a successful outcome is the effort involved in implementation of the resulting maintenance strategies. It is all too common for RCM plans to be developed which result in a significant reduction of business risk only to be never completely implemented.

This paper outlines an enterprise approach to reliability analysis allowing for an efficient implementation or RCM projects. The benefit of the approach also allows for benchmarking across an organisation, performance tracking, triggering of analysis projects and efficient sharing of analysis data and results.
