Brief work history:
Dr. Indra Gunawan works in the School of Engineering and Information Technology at Federation University Australia, Gippsland Campus as a Senior Lecturer and Coordinator for Maintenance and Reliability Engineering Programs. He completed his PhD in Industrial Engineering and MSc in Construction Management at Northeastern University, USA. Prior to joining Federation University (formerly known as Monash University, Gippsland Campus), he served as a faculty in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. He was also the Head of Systems Engineering and Management program at Malaysia University of Science and Technology previously.
Why did you first join the Asset Management Council?
First, I presented a paper at the Asset Management Conference (now called AMPEAK conference). Then, I joined the Asset Management Council as it is a technical society that consists of practitioners and academics in asset management.
Why did you take on the role of Chapter Chair?
To get involved in the asset management community and to represent Gippsland in the Asset Management Council.
My thoughts on Maintenance and Reliability Engineering:
Maintenance and reliability engineering are important factors for successful asset management. Effective maintenance management will improve the reliability of assets. Higher reliability of assets will definitely increase productivity and profitability.

1. I am an academic who has research interest in asset management.
2. I love travelling.
3. I like gardening.
