Grow your professional network with the AM Council.

Professional Networking

The Asset Management Council facilitates and supports several professional networking forums for members, including running Local Chapters and Special Interest Groups, as well as a private LinkedIn page.

We also host various events throughout the year across Australia, including the peak professional conference, AMPEAK.

All of our networking events are designed to provide a learning experience and exposure to contacts within, and outside of, your current industry sector. Participation in our social networking programs also attract Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours.

Local Chapters

The AM Council is represented in every State and Territory of Australia, and regional centre in Gippsland, as well as New Zealand. Local chapters of the AM Council facilitate local events and networking opportunities for members.

Special Interest Groups

The Asset Management Council has 8 Special Interest Groups that provide a forum for members to further explore specific aspects of the Asset Management profession and/or with a specific sector focus, including:

Women in Asset Management WiAM is a passionate group of Asset Managers who are keen to show the benefits of asset management in providing diversity in the workplace.
Young Asset Management Practitioners YAMP forum was created for Young Asset Management professionals to convene, share, and grow their asset management skills and knowledge.
Government Community of Practice The Government CoP group is focused on creating strategies for implementing and improving current challenges in asset management in government departments and helping government bodies develop and enhance their asset management practices.
Maintenance & Reliability in Asset Management MRiAM is a passionate group of Asset Managers who are keen to show the benefits of asset management in the maintenance sector.
Defence The Defence Special Interest Group forum brings together a group of Defence specialists to create strategies to utilise asset management to address the current challenges in the Defence sector.
Data in Asset Management DiAM brings together a group of Asset Management professionals interested in asset information management.
Sustainability & Resilience The Sustainability and Resilience in Asset Management (SRiAM) Special Interest Group’s purpose is to clarify, promote and integrate sustainability and resilience as essential considerations in the context of Asset Management.

The Special Interest Groups create an opportunity for Asset Management professionals in specialist areas to convene, share, and grow their asset management skills and knowledge.
Each group focuses on connecting, sharing experiences and knowledge and tools relating to its specific asset management industry.

The exact tasks of each SIG are detailed in its own Terms of Reference. Each SIG is led by a National Lead with assistance at the local level from members of the local Chapter committees.
