On the afternoon of 22 October, the delegation met the China Federation of Industrial Economics (CFIE) in Beijing. The meeting was chaired by Xiong Meng, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CFIE.
CFIE outlined its membership and work, including developing occupational standards and competency requirements for asset management, and building training and assessment pathways. The Council presented its certification scheme, training, career development resources and the AMPEAK conference, as well as its work on the boundary between AI and human decision-making.

On the morning of 22 October, the delegation visited the China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS) for a meeting on asset management standards practice in China, Australia and New Zealand. CNIS Vice President Lu Lili took part, together with colleagues from the Division of High-Tech Standardization, the International Standardization Research Center and China Standard Science and Technology Group.
CNIS is China’s counterpart to ISO/TC 251 Asset Management and holds the secretariat of the national asset management standards committee, SAC/TC 583. Vice President Lu Lili introduced the Institute, and the Division of High-Tech Standardization outlined China’s adoption of the ISO 55000 series as national standards (GB/T 33172, 33173 and 33174), supporting tools including an ISO 55001 self-assessment checklist, maturity assessment guidance and Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) templates, China’s contribution to the new ISO 55012 and ISO 55013, and implementation examples such as Beijing Daxing International Airport.

Qingdao · 21 October 2026
On the afternoon of 21 October, the delegation visited Shandong Port Qingdao Port and toured its fully automated container terminal, hosted by equipment management staff of the Engineering and Technology Department.
In commercial operation since 2017 and running around the clock, the terminal combines automated quay cranes, automated guided vehicles, container-lock robots, unmanned gates and automated yard cranes, with integrated planning and real-time data optimising equipment movements and vessel operations. It also uses solar, wind and hydrogen energy technologies. Delegates heard that Qingdao Port achieved ISO 55001 asset management system certification in 2024.

On the afternoon of 20 October, the delegation travelled to Jiaxing, Zhejiang, to visit Zhejiang Bove Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (Bove Technology), hosted by General Manager Wang Liubo (Jeff Wang).
Founded in 2017, Bove develops smart water and heat meters, communications and software, and covers R&D, manufacturing, sales, software and service. It serves more than 700 clients in over 80 countries, with more than 4 million devices deployed, and entered the Australian market in 2019. Delegates toured the site where R&D, manufacturing, calibration and testing sit side by side, and saw ultrasonic meters, Bove’s own calibration equipment, and a complete solution using LoRaWAN, NB-IoT and other networks for remote reading, leak and burst detection and SCADA integration.

On the morning of 19 October, the delegation visited Shanghai Baosight Software, part of China Baowu, toured the Baocloud Luojing Data Centre and met representatives of Baosight’s Marketing Headquarters, Rail Transit Business Unit, Baocloud Business Unit, Baokang Electronic and Baosight Smart Mining. The delegation was hosted by Hua Yiwen, General Manager of Overseas Business Marketing, Marketing Headquarters; Cheng Chang, Senior Director, Rail Transit Business Unit; Min Xinrong, Director of Marketing, Baocloud Business Unit; and Xie Yu, Party Branch Secretary and Deputy General Manager of Baokang Electronic.

On 14 October 2026, the Asset Management Council delegation, led by Chair Wendy McPate, visited the China Southern Power Grid Digital Grid Research Institute in Guangzhou, in a meeting chaired by Du Xu, Deputy General Manager of the Institute’s Strategic Customer Marketing Center. Participants included Shang Chao, General Manager of Business Research and Solutions at CSG Digital Operation, Zhang Peng, Manager of Marketing Management, Liu Qihan of CSG Digital Grid Technology, and Zhang Lijun and Zhang Xin of CSG AI Technology. It was the first formal visit of the delegation’s technical exchange in China.
