The recent NZ Asset Management Symposium – Collaborating for Greater Impact brought together asset management professionals from across New Zealand for a day of practical insights, shared experience and conversation.

The program demonstrated the breadth of asset management in action, with presentations spanning long-term planning, capability and community building, maritime fleet renewal, electrification, condition data, risk-based decision making and emerging technology.

Speakers and sessions included Jessie Lea on moving from projects to long-term planning; Wendy McPate on building capability, community and the future of asset management; CDR Phil Bradshaw and CDR Robyn Locke on the Maritime Fleet Renewal Programme; James Kilty on New Zealand’s electrified future; Nathan Cammock on electrifying Auckland’s ferry fleet; and Dawn Inglis on consistent condition data for New Zealand roads.

The program also featured Philip Conroy and Christopher Butt discussing risk-based decision making and asset management planning for the RNZN, and Alex Castellanos exploring the automated visual assessment of copper conductors.

A highlight of the day was the panel discussion, Both Sides of the Fence – What Public and Private Asset Managers Can Learn from Each Other, which brought different perspectives together around common asset management challenges and opportunities.

Thank you to all our speakers, attendees and supporters for contributing to such an engaging day.
