On Friday 7th September John Sander and Mark Mackenzie travelled to Busselton to host an AM Council sponsored networking event with the local Busselton Chamber of Commerce members. The event was held at Fat Duck Cycles to launch the second Busselton Australian International Pedal Prix Inc race.

The race was held on the Sunday where 43 teams competed to determine how many laps they could complete in six hours.
The weekend was mostly rainy but the weather was clear for the actual race. Although the track was dry there was still plenty of action with a number of competitors finding themselves upside down or on their sides as they tried to pedal too fast around some of the corners.

The purpose of the event is to get schools and their students involved in an event that promotes multidiscipline such as; teamwork, fitness, engineering, fundraising and logistic support. There is a close synergy between operating and maintaining these vehicles and the principles of asset management. By supporting events like this the AMC has demonstrated commitment to engaging with the community and showing that asset management is essential no matter what assets are being operated.
