This edition of “The Asset” centres about productivity improvements through Asset Management. Productivity, and its continuous improvement, is fundamental to a robust economy and remains a priority for governments, industry, and small businesses alike. In my mind, Government policy and polity play a key role in achieving productivity at all levels. But we explore here the possibility of improving productivity through Asset Management at the “micro level”. Some examples in Government owned Asset and in Industry have already demonstrated that it is a distinct possibility to achieve greater productivity through application of an Asset Management framework.
