‘Implementation and monitoring of effective of asset management strategies’

Presenter: John Hardwick, Executive Manager – Maintenance & Replacement Planning, Ausgrid

Abstract:The development and implementation of asset management strategies and plans represent a significant investment from an organisation, not just financially but also in terms of the intellectual investment. When applying these strategies and plans when need to consider how we can assess if they are producing the expected organisational outcomes. The outcomes should be visible and measurable in terms of the organisations achievements. This presentation uses a case study to demonstrate how a consistent reporting framework was established, and supported by organisational goals to achieve visibility of the achievements. In looking over the longer term, how can you be confident these strategies have been successful were in improving the asset performance. Did the actual performance meet the predictions, and more importantly has the asset performance been effective in reducing risk in real and measurable terms?
