1. Component life extension through metallurgical property improvement; Forged steel gearing versus Cast gearing for fixed and mobile plant.
2. Component failure analysis investigation process; Conveyor Drive Gearbox analysis and re-design case study
3. Equipment redesign to remove root cause of failure; Haul Truck final drive case study
4. National Paper Award winner presentation – Yasasya Kuruppu (UWA / Woodside) – Availability Modelling of a Roasting Process System.
5. Hofmann Engineering Workshop Tour of their precision manufacturing facility, including Gear manufacture, Heat Treatment, Heavy fabrication.

Notes:  The site tour takes groups through an operating workshop.  You are required to wear shoes fully covering your feet, safety glasses, and a hi-visibility vest.  Please bring your own PPE if available, as Hofmann have limited quantities of PPE to give out.  Limited street parking is available in Wood Street & Jackson Street – click address line or here to find Map.  The Perth-Midland suburban train is accessible to/from nearby Ashfield Station – approx 800m walk via Wood Street. Also consider taxi drop-off.
