Maximising return on investment, operational performance and effective management of assets is the science of business. On going development of those charged with that responsibility (the asset manager) is of critical importance in today’s service delivery environment where engineering enables and asset management empowers.
The purpose of asset management is to provide an intentional and optimal balance between asset availability, durability, performance, reliability and safety, whilst managing the competing demands of level of service and cost of service.
Asset management is strategic and focuses on delivering value outcomes, in a sustainable way, for the lowest whole-of-life cost. Asset management thinking is life cycle thinking.
- How is the life cycle thinking message delivered in a ‘live in the moment’ environment, where action and consequence (reaction) are decoupled?
- At a time of asset investment, sustainability and the carbon footprint, how do we ensure that decision-making is informed and provides effective and optimum whole of life outcomes?
Our panel will explore these issues, drawing upon experiences and their organisation’s requirements for prudent and informed decision-making. They will provide an insight into delivering successful messages for the adoption of life cycle approaches.
At a time of increasing population, service demands, asset performance, durability and availability, asset management provides prudent, sustainable and optimum stakeholder outcomes.
