The AM Council Asset Management Research Scholarship 2026

In 2026, the AM Council will award an AUD $9,000 research scholarship to support an individual passionate about advancing the art and science of asset management. The scholarship aims to foster practical research that delivers meaningful benefits to both your workplace and the broader community.

To apply, you must be a financial member of the AM Council, currently working in industry and not undertaking research connected to another academic institution. You’ll need to confirm you can complete the project within one year, agree to the Scholarship Guidelines and submit the online application form, outlining your research idea and why you’re the right person to deliver it.

Evaluation criteria for applications:
The Scholarship Committee will evaluate applications using the following criteria:

• • • Academic Excellence: Strong academic record supported by high achievement, relevant studies, awards and proven research success
    • Research Potential: Research skills, including ability to formulate research questions, develop methodology, analyse data, draw conclusions and ability to present findings to diverse audiences
    • Passion and Commitment: Passion for the field of study and demonstrated commitment to making a positive impact through their work
    • Innovation and Creativity: Originality and ability to think creatively about how to address critical issues in asset management and society
    • Research Topic: The extent to which the proposed topic advances the art and science of asset management

The Scholarship Committee may request further details and interview candidates, as needed.

Research topics: Candidates are encouraged to submit original proposals that address real-world challenges within their workplace and the wider community. For guidance only, the AM Council has outlined several key themes that applicants may wish to consider, although selection from these themes is not required. Preference will be given to those currently working in asset owning organisations.
