Bing Liu, Asset Lifecycle Manager – Track, Sydney Trains

Dr. Bing Liu is an accomplished Asset Lifecycle Optimisation Manager at Sydney Trains, specialising in track infrastructure since 2022. Prior to this role, he worked as a data scientist at Sydney Trains, where he focused on complex data modelling and predictive maintenance, contributing to data-driven solutions that enhanced rail asset performance and safety. With a Ph.D. in Computer Science, his expertise encompasses machine learning, information processing, and the integration of heterogeneous data sources to derive actionable insights. He also holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Information and Communication Engineering, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Mathematics and Statistics, which provide him with a strong and versatile technical foundation. Bringing over 15 years of research experience, Dr. Liu has excelled in sophisticated data analysis and the development of advanced algorithms to uncover insights across diverse fields. His career spans academia, government, and industry, where he has successfully delivered end-to-end projects and commercial-grade products using cutting-edge technology. He is passionate about leveraging data-driven strategies and innovation to optimise asset management processes, contributing to the sustainability and efficiency of critical infrastructure systems.
