Happy New Year, and welcome to 2026.

We are pleased to share that Wendy McPate has commenced as National Chair of the Asset Management Council from 1st January 2026. We are proud to mark this historic milestone—Wendy is the first female Chair in the history of our organisation. Her appointment reflects not only her exceptional leadership and contribution to the profession, but also the progress our community continues to make.

Wendy takes on the role with deep respect for the strong foundation built by those who have gone before, and a clear commitment to building on that work as we take asset management into a new era. She is an outstanding advocate for best practice and diversity and a role model for the next generation of asset managers.
