VAGO released its findings from the audit on the Quality of Victoria’s Critical Data Assets on 14 May 2024. [Quality of Victoria’s Critical Data Assets | Victorian Auditor-General’s Office]

This raises concerns about the reliability of information used in decision-making, policy development, and service delivery. Critical data assets—such as payroll, service activity, and payment systems—are essential to the functioning of government, and their mismanagement poses risks to both agencies and the community’s social and economic wellbeing.
