Digitalisation is changing how government and asset intensive organisations collect, manage and use asset information. The challenge is not simply introducing new technology — it is ensuring that digital information, data and emerging tools such as AI are embedded into asset management practice and used to support better planning and decision-making.

This symposium and workshop has been designed to help asset management professionals understand that transition and consider how it can be applied within their own organisations.

What will you gain from the day?

By attending, you will:

  • Understand the NSW digital policy direction
  • Hear from Infrastructure NSW on the NSW Infrastructure Digitalisation and Data Policy, including its rationale, intended outcomes, implementation foundations and the progress and challenges being observed across government agencies.
  • Learn from a government digitalisation journey
  • Hear a practical case studies from asset intensive organisations on their digitalisation journey, including lessons, challenges and the relationship between digital capability, asset information and asset management practice.
  • Explore the role of data, digital tools and AI in asset management
  • Consider how better digital information and emerging technologies can support asset management planning, investment decisions, lifecycle management and organisational decision-making.
  • See AI applied to SAMP and AMP development

AMCouncil will provide a live demonstration of how artificial intelligence can support the development of a Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) and Asset Management Plan (AMP) — including organising information, developing structure, identifying gaps and assisting with the planning process.

Understand what is required to develop a digital SAMP/AMP
Explore the information, structure, governance, stakeholders and data requirements needed to develop and maintain an effective digital SAMP or AMP.

Apply the concepts to your own organisation
The afternoon Digital SAMP/AMP Workshop will give participants the opportunity to work through how a digital asset management plan could be developed and maintained within their organisation.

  • Asset Information and Data
  • Digital Transformation
