This presentation will focus on EnergyAustralia’s Asset Management System maturity journey from 2016 to 2025.
In 2016, EnergyAustralia identified significant deficiencies in its Asset Management System through its first fleet wide Asset Management Review. In 2025, a comprehensive AS/ISO 55001-aligned Asset Management Maturity Assessment demonstrated measurable uplift: 4 major gaps fully closed, 10 materially progressed, and only 1 legacy gap outstanding.
In the time between the two assessments, a sustained program of design, implementation, and optimisation of Asset Management artifacts, processes and procedures have been implemented. The implementation of the mature Asset Management System has required consistent effort, heavy stakeholder engagement, regular leadership alignment and involvement, and a lot of passion and enthusiasm from the team.

Jennifer (Jenny) Ratsep is a Mechatronics Engineer and the Asset Systems Leader for the EnergyAustralia generation portfolio. She has extensive experience across power generation industry in Asset Management, Process Safey and Engineering Leadership, specialising in asset management governance and lifecycle strategy. At EnergyAustralia, Jenny is responsible for the delivery of the Asset Management requirements and has led the Central Engineering Asset Systems team since 2019.
James Stevens is a Mechanical Engineer and the Asset Management Lead for the EnergyAustralia generation portfolio. He has extensive experience in a variety of roles across rail and energy in maintenance, reliability and asset management specialising in asset lifecycle strategy development and Asset Management maturity. At EnergyAustralia, James is responsible for the asset management framework and Asset Management Plan reviews amongst other continuous improvement initiatives such as asset criticality.
April Jewell is a Mechanical Engineer and the Asset Management Systems Lead for the EnergyAustralia generation portfolio. She has thirteen years of experience across coal and gas generation in plant engineering, outage delivery, decommissioning and sustainability, specialising in asset management systems, data governance, and climate risk. At EnergyAustralia, April is responsible for the Asset Management System maturity program and Levels of Service framework, and co-chairs the Operations and Projects Data Governance Working Group.
