Webinar – The Role of Asset Management in the Mitigation of Fraud and Corruption (Part 1 of 2: Identifying Fraud and Corruption)

5 June @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am AEST
FREE FOR ALL

A 2-part exploration of fraud, waste, and abuse! With the active support of the Asset Management community, the “Value and Benefits from Asset Management” team has produced over 25 asset management success stories, over the past four years. These stories have come from both commercial and government entities in Australia, NZ and the US.

In this two-part series (part one: 5 June; part two: 19 June), we explore a powerful, often unspoken outcome that asset management can provide – detection of fraud, waste, and abuse.

This webinar is Part 1 of a two-part series and will not just discuss two asset management success stories but will also highlight the challenges that any such improvement activity may encounter – the discovery of untoward activities! In this case, fraud and corruption!

Arguably, many asset management improvement activities will encounter such issues.

The specifics of such activities will not be discussed by the speakers, however there will be discussion on what the improvement team can do to deal with this always uncomfortable situation. Looking the other way does not help!

Part 1 includes presentations from:

  • Peter Kohler – reflecting upon his military and commercial experience.

  • Sean Reeves, reflecting upon his commercial experience.

Facilitated by Nick Phillips, an important discussion and Q&A session among all the speakers and the audience will follow. The aim of this discussion is to understand the barriers and the challenges both searching for and identifying, such behaviour.
