The AMCouncil Melbourne Chapter gathered last night for an insightful session exploring how to elevate data to the status of a true strategic asset.
Guest presenter Michael Mowat shared his approach to treating data as a core enabler of defensible investment planning—moving beyond data clean-up to demonstrate the tangible link between data quality, decision confidence, and asset performance.
Michael guided attendees through practical steps for establishing robust data governance, defining data requirements aligned to decision-making, and using high-confidence information to build transparent and trusted business cases.
A big thank you to Christine, Michael, and the team at IAG for hosting us and creating such a welcoming environment for discussion and networking.
And special thanks to Andrew Sarah and Peter Robinson for capturing the evening in photos.
The session was a timely reminder that in asset management, information is not just an input—it’s an investment in itself.
