New Technologies to Hobart Class
BAE Systems are delivering new technologies that will enable data-driven decision-making for the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) three Hobart Class destroyers through the Destroyer Enterprise Charter.
The Charter was launched in late 2019 to support the warships and transition them into service. BAE Systems is the managing contractor of the Destroyer Enterprise, with industry partners including Navantia Australia, Raytheon, Thales, CASG, and RAN1.
Cable Car Crash – Maintenance Matters
On the 23rd May 2021, news broke around the world regarding a tragic cable car incident in Italy. The funicular line transports people from the nearby resort town of Stresa, in the northern region of Piedmont, to the popular Mottarone mountain. Fourteen people on board were killed when the car snapped off the cable, plummeting twenty metres to the ground1.
Australian Defence Force – Space Division
The Royal Australian Air Force will establish a Space Division, with the federal government investing $7 billion1 into space capability. The continued research into space domain awareness builds on our nation’s relationships with the United States and other key partners. It is expected that the Space Division will be launched in early 2022.
