Last week, the AMCouncil Melbourne Chapter brought members together for an engaging technical session, From Worthless Data to Intelligent Assets: Edge Federated Machine Learning in Real Work Asset Management.

The session explored how asset-intensive organisations can move beyond simply collecting operational data and start unlocking real value from it. Drawing on practical examples from Australian transport, ports and heavy industry, presenter Shane Scriven showed how edge federated machine learning can help overcome some of the biggest challenges in modern asset management, including data silos, isolated asset knowledge, cloud analytics latency and privacy concerns.

Thank you to the AMCouncil Melbourne Chapter for hosting another strong local event, with special thanks to Chair Andrew Sarah, committee member Indy Sehra, and presenter Shane Scriven for bringing the evening together and sharing their time and expertise.

It was a valuable session for members interested in data governance, data quality and making better use of asset information in practice.
