The Asset Management Council’s 2015 AGM was held last Monday 25 May 2015. At the AGM, the result of the Board election ballot was announced with Mr. Mark Mackenzie being elected as a Director on the AM Council Board. Please find below a description of Mark and his qualifications. Mark joins fellow Board members: Glenn Ingram, John Hardwick, Dave Daines, Deryk Anderson, Ian Maxted, Archim Kruger, Danny Elia.

Mark is currently a Strategic Consulting Manager at K2 Technology, as well as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia. Previously, Mark has led the asset management team within BHP Billiton Iron Ore, has been a Technical Director at IRC/Bureau Veritas, and a Colonel Commandant (RAEME) in Western Australia. His certifications include CFAM, CPEng, FIEAust, CMRP.

Over the last decade, Mark has shown outstanding dedication to the Asset Management Council’s mission and values. Among his many activities within the Council, he has been a former Perth Chapter Chairman, has delivered a number of papers and tutorials at AMPEAK (as well as being a technical reviewer for AMPEAK), and is an accredited presenter of the AM Council’s Fundamentals training course.

In Mark’s words, his vision for the future of the Asset Management Council is to “maintain the Asset Management Council as a world recognised leader in asset management that provides relevant services to its members. My visionary commitment, strategic thinking and innovation to achieve this goal have been demonstrated by some of the initiatives I have achieved over the last ten years.” Of these initiatives, notable examples include helping transition the WA chapter from MESA into the Asset Management Council, establishing a strategic asset management group within K2, and helping to develop the Reliability Competency Framework.

We look forward to the experience and knowledge Mark brings to the Asset Management Council Board of Directors, and we are confident his input and strategies will continue to guide the Asset Management Council in being a peak body for asset management knowledge and education.
