An AMCouncil supported seminar at Federation University Australia’s Gippsland campus was recently held to bring together representatives from local industries to learn new ways to strengthen their business. The Asset Management Workshop hosted by the School of Science, Engineering and Information Technology on 28th November 2019 was a houseful event with more than forty delegates in person and online. The event focused on helping businesses to reduce the cost of operational maintenance, reduce the risk of failures and further enhance the performance of assets.
Three expert speakers for this event were:
- Dr Gopi Chattopadhyay, Post Graduate Program Co-ordinator, Maintenance and Reliability Engineering, Federation University Australia and Chair of Asset Management Council, Gippsland Chapter presented Capability building in Maintenance and Reliability Engineering through workplace based learning.
- Dave Alexander, Managing Director, Holistic Asset Management presented Failure data analysis and decision-making in maintenance, reliability and asset management.
- Stephen Morey, Senior Reliability Engineer, Department of Defence presented Prognostics and Health Management in Asset Management: An Overview.
All speakers were alumni of the Maintenance and Reliability Engineering Post Graduate Programme at Monash and Federation University Australia.
It is the tenth local event of its kind, with previous events attracting almost 400 delegates to the Gippsland campus over the past three years. The event was run in conjunction with the Asset Management Council and The Engineering Network. Feedback from delegates was extremely positive.
