As an outcome of some positive interactions and conversations the AM Council recently had the opportunity to present our models, approach and offerings to the Australasian Procurement and Construction Council’s (APCC) lead special interest group – ‘Construction and Asset Management’. The presentation delivered by John Hardwick with support from Toby Horstead was well received by the APCC group chaired by Joe Monforte from the Department of Treasury & Finance Victoria.
The APCC’s website describes their role as ‘the peak council whose members are responsible for procurement, construction and asset management policy for Australian State and Territory Governments’. The APCC is made up of 11 member agencies with Papua New Guinea is an associate member
Given the interest in the presentation it is anticipated that further inquiries will come from the State Government members of the special interest group.
John’s presentation follow’s a presentation delivered by Peter Kohler on behalf of the AM Council during a tele-meeting of the APCC’s Asset and Facilities Management Leadership group (a sub group of the Constitution and Asset Management Special interest group.
Further opportunities to discuss the AM Council’s industry support will also result through Toby’s representation at the APCC sub group ‘Asset and Facilities Management Leadership’ on behalf of our corporate member Transport for NSW.
On behalf of the AM Council Toby has also been working with the APCC’s Employer Information Requirements Technical Group, a sub group of the Australasian BIM Advisory Board.
It is hoped that ongoing interaction with the APCC will strengthen the AM Council’s relationship with some of Australia’s largest asset owners, the Federal and State Governments.
