Armoured Vehicles Support

The Australian Army is powering ahead with infrastructure on site at defence bases.

The new facilities to be built at Puckapunyal, Lavarack Barracks and Edinburgh Defence Precinct will strengthen the ADF’s maintenance of its fleet of armoured vehicles. The next generation of fighting vehicles including the Projects Land 400, Land 907 Phase 2, and Land 8160 Phase 1 over the next thirty years.

The infrastructure built on site at the three defence bases, including vehicle bays, will help to manage and deliver the maintenance and training and mission readiness. 3D models were used to ascertain which buildings and engineering systems were linked with each other to further support the adaptability and interconnectedness within the new designs. By planning the infrastructure with adaptability at the core, the upgrades to facilities can be done in stages, in step with the phased approach in the delivery of the armoured vehicles.
