The AMCouncil is seeking a volunteer member to represent AMCouncil on the QR-005 Dependability Standards Australia Committee.

What is QR-005 and What is it’s current Work?

The QR 005 Dependability Committee works with 32 Standards and interacts with the International IRS Mirror Committee TC56 Dependability.

Committee Members of QR-005 are representatives from universities, Professionals Australia, Engineers Australia, EA – Risk Engineering Society, Department of Defence, Standards NZ and the Asset Management Council.
 
Current work of the committee includes work on Management Standards such as Dependability; Specification of dependability; Dependability management – reliability; Dependability management – maintainability and maintenance; Dependability management – supportability and support; Dependability management – availability; as well as working on standards for Risk Analysis of Open Systems; Fault Tree Analysis; Guidance on human aspects of dependability; Obsolescence management; Methods for product accelerated testing; Reliability centred maintenance; Programme for reliability growth
 
The tasks undertaken by the Committee include drafting Word Requirements; Review and formally comment on DC’s; Vote on standards; Contribute as experts; Administration for adoption; Liaison within Australia and International standards committees.
 
What is the Commitment?
Time commitment includes:

  • QR-005 meets quarterly (3 hrs online)
  • TC56 meet twice per year
  • online meetings with maintenance teams, as required

Reporting includes:

  • to AMCouncil through CEO on a quarterly basis on the work of QR-005,
  • facilitating discussions with AM Council members through CEO on work of QR-005 where stakeholder engagement/feedback is sought
  • Standards Australia and Chair of QR-005 as specified

Remuneration:
This is a volunteer position and no remuneration is provided by AMCouncil or Standards Australia.  Standards Australia may provide reimbursement for expenses for travel to face-to-face meetings but most meetings can be joined virtually.
