Sydney Chapter Involvement with AEC

Sydney AEC InvolvementAMCouncil Sydney Chapter was this year invited to assist with the hosting some Field visits (Off-site tours) in conjunction with Engineers Australia’s College of Leadership and Management (CLM) at the Australian Engineering Conference held in Sydney in September.

One of these was at Garden Island Defence Precinct and included a workshop on the topic of Digital Disruption in Construction in the Department of Defence and the other was at the Sydney Opera House.

What Procedures and Processes do you use?

Audience 26 9 18Wednesday 26th September saw the Brisbane Chapter provide a seminar on ‘What an Asset Management System is and isn’t.’ The 2 hour presentation was hosted by committee members Keith Paintin and Mark Jordan, who provided an interactive walk through of the Asset Management System and its key elements from the AM Policy through to people capabilities and also debated what does optimisation really mean to an organisation.

AMC welcomes Chinese Delegation

Chinese Delegation 5The AMCouncil Melbourne Chapter welcomed a delegation from China as part of their visit to Melbourne on Thursday afternoon, 20th September, who were interested in learning more about the Australian government and the Asset Management systems that are used within the three different levels of government.

We have much to learn from the Chinese with regard to Asset Management. Thank you to Nick Phillips for presenting on the Victorian AMAF framework. We hope our ISO TC251 delegates can continue this relationship when they visit China in May next year.
