The Canberra Chapter of the AMC hosted the second joint AIPM-AMC presentation to a packed audience at Engineering House in Barton, ACT on Tuesday evening of 14th August.
Systems Engineering in Public Transport
In a joint event last night between the AMCouncil and SESA (Systems Engineering Society of Australia) we brought together the philosophies and disciplines of Asset Management and Systems Engineering in Public Transport. It was interesting hearing different perspectives from panellists Len Neist, Anthea Antonio, Heather Moody and Paul O’Hallaron as they touched on using both asset management and systems engineering to break down any silos and to better understand and address the interfaces and interdependencies.
Global Standards working Together
The Sydney Chapter of the AMCouncil recently got together to take a look into Facilities Management and in particular the recent ISO Standards. Stephen Ballesty, Director In Touch Advisory, guided us through the new standards and the difference/alignments with ISO55000. Read on for further details.
Brisbane takes off to tour the airport!
A successful site tour to Brisbane airport last Wednesday for the Brisbane Chapter! Thanks to Ken Chapman for facilitating the online register and Mark Jordan for joining the meet-and-greet of the participants, and both their support the entire period of the tour. Also, thanks to Ron Shuttlewood for organising the mini bus and Brisbane Airport community engagement advisor in advance, the transition went effortlessly. Great team work!
The Learning Hour kicks off
What a turnout to last week’s YAMP Learning Hour webinar. Just shy of 100 people registered to hear Dr Terrence O’Hanlon’s lively and interactive learning about developing a holistic system for reliability and a new way of thinking about delivering value from assets.
Canberra explores Asset Intensive Industries
The Canberra Chapter of the AMC held our 2018 AGM and a presentation on the evening of the 22nd March at Engineering House in Canberra. This is a wonderful venue for presentations and the Engineers Australia staff, as usual do everything they can to make the evening run like clockwork.
After a get together session over tea and coffee, it was down to business in the main auditorium. The presentation was about Asset Management Systems in Asset Intensive Industries, and with a total of 17 attendees from universities, defence, electricity distribution and consulting engineers, there was plenty of input from the audience, making for an interesting evening.
