Perth talks Value, Improvement and Innovation
Our Perth chapter got together yesterday evening to kick off the first of many events for 2018, this one all about Value, Improvement and Innovation in Asset Management. James Wright (Jacobs) went through some practical examples of how to embed an effective asset management culture in organisations. Ian Moon from the Warship Asset Management Alliance Management Office followed up with exploring the understanding, development, implementation and challenges of Continous Improvement in a defence and industry alliance environment.

Our Perth chapter had much fun with a round of bowls (and a round of drinks) at South Perth Bowling Club last week, as they celebrated the end of another year.
Sydneysiders enjoyed a drink or two and a mingle outside on the Habourview Hotel rooftop terrace while looking out to stunning views of the Harbour and the Bridge last night, as they celebrated 2017 coming to a close. It was great to see AMCouncil National Chair, Dave Daines, all the way from Perth, WA, there as a surprise guest.
The WA Chapter finished the technical sessions year with a fantastic evening attracting interest from 65 asset management practitioners with which the session exceeded all expectations – standing room only! A great show of interest and support for Asset Management in the West.
We’ve now just passed our sixth session in our fortnightly ‘Asset Management in Action’ series, showcasing projects from our Excellence Awards finalists during AMPEAK16 and 17. Thank you to Richard Lu from Sydney Trains, who took the time to tell us all about their project, the development of an Asset Information Submission Guideline, and to Jun Li from Curtin University who talked us through his project on Infrastructural Condition Monitoring.
