Sydney Water, Jemena and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) recently announced a jointly funded project to trial injecting biomethane into the natural gas network in NSW.
The $14 million project1 will upgrade biogas produced from the anaerobic digestion process at Sydney Water’s Malabar Wastewater Treatment Plant to biomethane and injected into the Jemena natural gas network.
The South Australian Government recently announced major plans and investment into reducing energy costs in government buildings.
The $60 million commitment is expected to generate hundreds of local jobs, as tradies provide retrofits to existing building assets. Recently, Victorian-based small business, Air Fab, was awarded a $1.3 million contract1 with Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) to design, fabricate and supply aircraft safety stands for maintenance procedures performed on ADF assets such as the F/A 18F Super Hornets and EA-18G Growler.
