This Webinar will showcase how National Grid (an international electricity and gas company based in the UK)

.are using a new and innovative approach to the management of their environmental assets. Their Natural Capital approach assigns indicative financial values to the public and private benefits provided by the natural environment. Underpinned by scientific and academic research this approach informs business decisions, management strategy and investment, improving efficiencies and financial return, whilst also driving collaboration and partnership with NGOs and local communities.

Our International Presenter, live from the UK is Chris Plester, Environmental Sustainability Advisor, Safety, Sustainability & Resilience, National Grid, UK Chris Plester is Environmental Sustainability Advisor within the corporate Sustainability & Climate Change team at National Grid with over 19 years of experience within the business. Working with a wide range of internal departments, NGOs and other stakeholders he leads the development of new projects, utilising ecosystem valuation tools and approaches to inform more sustainable land management practices. He worked alongside AECOM to develop a bespoke natural capital valuation tool and approach that uses an asset based approach to support decision making and strategy for National Grids site management.
