Brief work history:
I have 35 years of experience as engineer, manager, consultant, lead researcher, professor of strategic asset management and team manager in asset management and maintenance area in India, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, China and Sweden in rail, manufacturing, power generation, mining, power transmission, academia, research and project finance.
Why did you first join the Asset Management Council?
I joined MESA (now known as Asset Management Council) to contribute as a member of the QLD chapter for professional development and related activities in the area of asset management, reliability and maintenance.
Why did you take on the role of Chapter Chair, Brisbane?
I took the Brisbane Chapter Chair role to reactivate technical seminars and foster collaborative work with industries, professional bodies and universities to share knowledge and provide a platform for learning from each other in our asset management journeys.
My thoughts on: Asset management is a journey
Leadership and culture are some of the most important elements for success.
One can paint a painting by numbers or by copying a great art. However, excellence like Taj Mahal or Mona Lisa requires lots of skills, knowledge, planning and hard work. Leaders of asset management aspire for excellence and commit themselves to make it happen.
Three interesting facts about me:
1. Developed asset management course for Power Generation in 2007, in Gladstone
2. Started conference on asset and maintenance mgmt. (CAMM) in 2010 in Gladstone.
3. Chaired 27th International Conference COMADEM2014, in 2014 in Brisbane
