Last week, the AMCouncil Melbourne Chapter welcomed members and guests to a lunchtime technical event in the Melbourne CBD, focused on Managing Ageing Infrastructure at Scale: A Local Government Perspective.
The session was presented by Tze-Sian Hor, Coordinator Asset Management & Systems, Environment & Infrastructure at the City of Stonnington, who shared practical insights from local government asset management, including enterprise-wide business process mapping, AMIS requirements development, governance uplift, data standards, asset hierarchy considerations, and the importance of aligning asset processes with finance, works management and broader corporate systems.
Attendees heard valuable lessons on the realities of managing large volumes of ageing physical and digital assets, including system limitations, change management challenges and the importance of cross-department alignment.
Thank you to Tze-Sian for generously sharing his experience and insights, and to Melbourne Chapter Chair Andrew Sarah and the Melbourne Chapter Committee for organising another valuable technical event for the asset management community.
