At the AMPEAK conference on Monday the AM Council held its annual AGM. At the meeting a new Board member was elected.
There were 2 applications for 1 place on the Board and after a very close vote Toby Horstead was elected.
Toby is the Principal Manager Network and Asset Strategy, Asset Standards Authority at Transport NSW. He is a Civil Engineer with tertiary qualifications in Asset Management and over 18 years’ experience in NSW Government transport entities. More information about Toby is below.
In addition to congratulating Toby, the AM Council would like to thank outgoing Board member Deryk Anderson for his work and commitment to the role.
Toby Horstead
Toby leads the development and management of network and asset strategy for the Asset Standards Authority (ASA). Within Transport for NSW the ASA is tasked with developing and maintaining engineering assurance frameworks that reflect a whole of asset life approach across the $114B asset base and growth programs.
His areas of responsibility include asset planning; stewardship; performance reporting and configuration management.
Toby is a Civil Engineer with tertiary qualifications in Asset Management and over 18 years’ experience in NSW Government transport entities. Whilst at RailCorp he developed and documented the Asset Management and Corridor Plans for the Sydney Metropolitan rail network, which contributed to RailCorp receiving the AMCouncil Gold Asset Management Award in 2011.
Relationship to the AM Council
As the Principal Manager Network and Asset Strategy, Toby leads the Transport for NSW interface with the AM Council, including arrangements for Transport for NSW’s Platinum Corporate Membership and related activities such as training and supporting AMPEAK.
Vision for the AM Council
Toby’s aspirations centre around seeing knowledge and experience from AM Council and members transferred into practical and beneficial applications, supporting member organisations realise their business objectives through asset management.
He sees Board’s role as providing the governance and strategic direction to allow the AMBoK team and members to take ownership of the development of asset management thinking.
