Asset Management Fundamentals Course
The Asset Management Council’s Asset Management Fundamentals Course is focused on enabling participants to increase their competency and effectiveness in asset management by gaining insight and knowledge to develop skills relevant to industry.
Participants of the Asset Management Fundamentals Course learn to define asset management within the context of the ISO 5500X Suite, the International GFMAM Asset Management Landscape and AMBoK. They will also learn to identify the principles that underpin asset management, and to identify available asset management tools and techniques applicable within an organisational context. Participants can then identify opportunities to apply these learnings to improve individual and organisational performance.
All AM Council lecturers are Certified Fellows of Asset Management, and come from a variety of backgrounds, and therefore bring with them a wealth of experience and real world examples. The Course also provides a range of supporting reference materials, for future use and to aid in maintaining participants’ on-going learning. These materials include copies of:
- Living Asset Management;
- AMBoK Publication 000: Framework for Asset Management, Second Edition; and
- AMBoK Publication 001: Companion Guide to ISO 55001, v1.1.
A focus on technical and real-world applications of asset management, leadership, management and ISO 55001 allows the Fundamentals Course to be relevant to a diverse number of industries. Additionally, passing the accompanying exam to the Asset Management Fundamentals Course provides sufficient competencies for Certification to Associate level.
Certification for Asset Management Practitioners
Asset management is a continuous improvement process for practitioners. To support this, the Asset Management Council with the support of a number of its corporate members established a four-level Certification Scheme, allowing individuals to be recognised for their knowledge of asset management and competence in applying asset management.
